Kaniva Friends of Vision Australia have closed after 92 years

In Kaniva in 1932 a group of local women commenced an Auxiliary to assist the Blind & Visually Impaired people by donating money to Royal Victorian Institute for the Blind by selling goods, plants, cooking, needlework & knitting which were sold on street stalls along with any welcomed donations for numerous number of years.

Our records have shown over the following years RVIB eventually merged with Vision Australia the same committee continued for the next 92 Years. Over this period omitting the war years Kaniva & District Shire residents generously donated a grand total of $59,000 towards this worthy cause.
