‘Sharing Hope’ was the theme of last Sunday morning’s Community Thanksgiving Service at the Nhill Community Centre.
Representatives from all of Nhill’s churches led the celebration, which featured singing, Bible readings, prayers and drama. Marg Millington spoke about how God’s hope has shaped her life, while Jack Chatree, a leader in the Karen Baptist Church, shared the experiences of Karen refugees living on the Thai border. A retiring offering was collected for Sharing Hope, an organisation that provides food, education and medical supplies to support those refugees. Almost 200 people attended the celebration and enjoyed refreshments prepared by the Karen community.
