Nhill Gallery member Katie has been transforming scrap metal into striking works of art for the past five years, building a creative practice that began with a crash course in welding and has continued to grow ever since.
Katie said her introduction to scrap metal art came in 2021, when her husband gave her a quick lesson in gasless MIG welding so she could make a couple of pieces for the Shed Works exhibition at Gallery Central.
