The Kaniva Raiders’ 2026 season came to an end this weekend after a hard-fought Preliminary Final against the Nhill Leopards on the Dimboola turf.
The Raiders started strongly, with even team play, strategic passing and solid defence. Nhill came out strongly in the second quarter, but Kaniva’s defence held firm. The Raiders created opportunities of their own, including some strong play in the D, but Nhill’s defence managed to clear the ball before Kaniva could convert. Nhill eventually found a field goal, with the game remaining closely contested as energy levels began to drop across both teams.
