NHILL Pool was officiallyopened to the public on Saturday. Hindmarsh Shire Council said they were pleased to announce that the Nhill Aquatic Centre 2020 Swimming Season will be run by YMCA Victoria.
A spokesperson from Hindmarsh Shire said, “The Y advises that “they can’t wait to welcome the community back to their much-loved facility to cool off over summer”.
The opening of the pool will once again provide opportunities for local employment as well as a welcome chance for the community and visitors to reconnect after enduring months of disruption courtesy of the Covid-19 pandemic.”
In the lead up to opening, the Y has engaged with local lifeguards and aquatics professionals to ensure all is in readiness to operate the pool in a COVID Safe manner. In addition to general access for pool use, one of the first programs that will be reactivated will be a learn-to-swim program ran by Emma Toll who will run a block of lessons in the lead up to Christmas, while the intent is to run a VICSWIM intensive program during January 2021.
The opening hours will be Monday 3.30pm-7pm, Tuesday 9am- 5pm, and Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 3.30pm- 7pm. Saturday and Sunday opening hours will be 2pm-7pm.
