Friday, March 6 saw President Jan Cole welcome Bev Branson and Allan Webster to our hall for an afternoon of country music.
This was Bev’s first time singing here in Nhill and only her second time sharing the stage with Allan. Bev is a singer-songwriter and, along with the many songs she sang for us, she also performed two of her own. One was “Country Fire Volunteers”, which really pulled at the heartstrings. The other was a fun song about old-time photography called “Great Gim’a Photo Hanging on the Wall”. It certainly made us wonder why people in those old photos always looked so stern.
