Rotary Report

Radiographer Peter Trenery was the Guest Speaker at last Wednesday’s meeting of the Rotary Club of Nhill. Peter is well known amongst those who have engaged his services through x-rays and ultrasounds during his visits to the Nhill hospital, however his presentation last week was about his other passion. Peter is a volunteer train driver with the Puffing Billy steam train. Peter simplified his role as a radiographer, “All bodies are the same, just find the problem. Trains, however, are all different.”

Peter qualified as an Engine Cleaner in 2001. By June 2002 he had completed a Safe-working course and qualified as a Guard/Signalman. Peter continued to develop his skills and achieved his certificates of competency as a Trolley Driver and Fire Patrol in 2004, a Steam Fireman in 2007, and finally a Steam Locomotive Driver in 2016. He has completed over 25 years as a volunteer with the Puffing Billy service.
