Despite an ongoing fuel crisis, Edenhope’s 7th annual Day of the Dackel went ahead on 29 March at Henley Park, drawing visitors from as far as 1,000 kilometres to attend the much-loved event.
Day of the Dackel (dachshund) is a full weekend of dachshund-themed fun that attracts visitors from across Australia. Festivities begin on Saturday evening with a PJ party for both dogs and their humans, followed by Sunday’s main event featuring a market, a small dog show, and the crowd-favourite Dackel Dash, where dachshunds race head-to-head for the title. A recent addition is the Hobby Dachshund Race, inspired by hobby horse events, giving children under 12 a chance to join in the fun.
