Thursday saw Nhill Brigade and 10 neighbouring brigades respond to a grass and scrub fire along the Western Highway.
Crews faced very challenging conditions with extreme heat and strong winds. Despite this, firefighters did an outstanding job to quickly bring the spread of the fire under control, especially given the speed at which it was travelling.
