“A Slight Mishap” Coming to Nhill

This November, the Piggery Lane Players are set to bring a riotous mystery to the local stage with their upcoming production of Robert Sheppard’s Dame Agatha’s Greatest Case. Playing for a strictly limited run of three performances on Friday, 6 November, and Saturday, 7 November, this full-length comedy offers a delightful spoof of classic country house murder mysteries. Set entirely in the grand library of Brandling Hall, the show promises a night of laughter, tangled relationships, and 'surreptitious subterfuge'.

The story begins as Sir Redvers and Lady Bertha Brandling prepare to host a jolly weekend at their estate. The guest list is packed with high-society eccentrics, including a devious Cabinet Minister and his ignored wife, a smooth-talking playboy, a glamorous Hollywood starlet, and Lady Bertha's old school friend, Dame Agatha Crustie – the famously cantankerous 'Queen of Sleuths'. However, with the dramatic murder of one of the guests, the household is plunged into chaos. It is not long before Scotland Yard’s procedure-obsessed Inspector Corner and a bumbling local constable arrive on the scene, setting off a hilarious battle of wits between the professional police and the brilliant amateur detective.
